Delete Your Resumedo Account
You can request deletion of your Resumedo account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains how, what gets removed, and how long it takes.
Delete individual items without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole Resumedo account to remove a specific piece of data. The following actions are available directly inside the Resumedo mobile app and on resumedo.com:
- Delete a single resume — open Resumes, tap the resume, then Delete.
- Delete a single cover letter — open the resume's Cover Letter section, select a letter, then Delete.
- Remove your profile video — open Profile → Video and tap Remove video.
- Remove your profile photo — open Profile → Photo and tap Remove.
- Delete a single section entry (experience, education, skill, language, achievement, interest, portfolio item) — open the entry in the resume builder and tap Delete.
- Hide your public profile without losing data — Profile → Visibility and turn off Public. The profile becomes unreachable but the underlying data is preserved.
Each of these actions takes effect immediately and removes the affected data from our database within seconds. Encrypted backup snapshots are purged within 30 days.
Delete your entire Resumedo account
If you want to remove your account and all associated data, choose either method below — both result in the same outcome.
Option 1 — From the Resumedo app or website
- Sign in at resumedo.com/app/login or open the Resumedo mobile app.
- Web: open Account → Account deletion → Delete account.
Mobile: open Settings → Account → Account deletion → Delete account. - Confirm the action when prompted.
Option 2 — By email
If you no longer have access to your account, send an email to support@resumedo.com from the address registered on your Resumedo account, with the subject line "Account deletion request". We'll verify ownership and confirm deletion within 5 business days.
What gets deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your account record (email, name, password hash, authentication tokens)
- All resumes you've created, including drafts and unpublished versions
- All cover letters
- Your public profile, including the published URL, profile photo, and 60-second video introduction
- Any portfolio items, achievements, languages, interests, and education entries
- Mock interview transcripts and recordings
- Stored billing references (Stripe customer ID for web subscribers; subscription metadata only — payment card information is never stored by Resumedo)
What is retained, and why
A limited subset of data may be retained in anonymised form to meet legal, accounting, and security obligations:
- Transaction records — invoice IDs, amounts, dates, and tax jurisdiction. Required by tax authorities (typically 7 years). These records cannot be tied back to a person after account deletion.
- Security logs — IP addresses associated with sign-in attempts may be retained for up to 90 days for fraud and abuse prevention, after which they are deleted.
- Backups — encrypted backup snapshots may contain your data for up to 30 days after deletion. Backups are not restored except after a critical service incident; if a restore occurs, deletion is re-applied immediately.
Subscriptions
If you have an active Resumedo Pro subscription, cancelling and deleting your account does not automatically refund or stop the subscription. To stop being billed:
- Web (Stripe) — cancel from Settings → Billing before requesting deletion.
- iOS (App Store) — open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device and cancel Resumedo Premium.
- Android (Google Play) — open the Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → cancel Resumedo Premium.
Resumedo cannot cancel store-based subscriptions on your behalf — these are managed by Apple or Google.
Timeline
- In-app deletion — applied immediately. Account and visible data are gone within minutes.
- Email request — confirmed within 5 business days.
- Encrypted backups — purged within 30 days.
- Anonymised transaction records — retained up to 7 years as required by law.
